Early and accurate diagnosis of pig pregnancy is quite important in modern animal feeding and farming. The common ways to determine whether a pig is pregnant is based on observation, ultrasound scanners or other biochemical methods. Among all these methods, B mode ultrasound scanner seems to be the most accurate and precise way, however, due to the high cost and complicated image reading, it is difficult for general farmers to use it, only those experienced veterinarian can be very skillful.

Rapid test for early pregnancy diagnosis is not a new top in animal science, there are also many products available to detect the pregnancy of pigs, however, it is quite difficult to find a relatively accurate and cost-effective product. Ring Bioscience together with NBGen have developed such new product recently. The test kit is based on the detection of an estrogen in pig urine, which has been validated in filed testing and some farms here in China. The test result was quite promising and interesting.

Only after 3' and 5' incubation, the result can be read by eye or with a digital reader. Simple and easy. The details of the product can be found here: Pig pregnancy test kit
